Jo is a huge Star Wars fan so of course it made perfect sense for her to marry Phil, the love of her life on the 4th May this year. However, Jo also has incredible creativeness, style and flair so this would not be a themed wedding. Though little token details were added as an ode to the epic saga.
It was a beautiful, sunny day and starting my time at Piccolino photographing all the gorgeous details was brilliant.
One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is photographing the bride and her entourage getting ready. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the bridesmaids and get stuck into the documentary/reportage style photography I love.
Jo’s sons also dropped in to put the finishing touches to their suits.
Jo is one of the most generous, kind and caring people I know and what I love to see is how much her sons love her.
Jo and Phil had their wedding at Sheffield Town Hall. Sheffield City Centre is a great place to walk through, especially when doing a Reservoir Dogs style walk…
The joy of a beautiful bride and a gorgeous day!
The groom! Phil is a man of few words but a wry sense of humour and a love for wildlife photography. We bond over talks about the latest camera each of us has purchased. I’ve never seen him so happy or relaxed. And though he isn’t a big fan of being in front of the camera he did a fantastic job of it on the day.
I love how he looks at Jo…
And once the formalities were over…
And here are a few from just after the knot was tied.
Well done for reaching this far! It’s so hard to pick just a few. And it’s lovely to be able to tell the story of the whole day. Piccolino did a fantastic job of the food and the atmosphere was relaxed and jovial. Here are some of the guests enjoying the wedding breakfast.
The manager of Piccolino with the gorgeous bride.
I love this one. The sun was bouncing off the glass buildings all around and the expressions on their faces were brilliant.
I managed to grab Jo and Phil for a few more pics after dinner.
Jo’s sister sewed in this amazing blue petticoat into her dress. Now that’s dedication!
If you follow my photography you know I love a good reflection.
What was lovely about Jo and Phil’s wedding was that there was nothing rushed about it. After dinner there was time for the guests to sit out in the Novotel Hotel courtyard soaking up the rays.
