When I first met Dave and Sarah, it was like meeting old friends! You know, when you just have that instant connection. We bonded over cups of tea and I got to hear a bit about their lives, their jobs and of course, their upcoming wedding.
This is the joy of being a wedding photographer, connecting with people, making new friends and creating beautiful images. We made a great start on the latter this month as we headed out to Padley Gorge in the Peak District for their engagement shoot. It’s such a fabulous opportunity to spend time with them, see what they’re like in front of the camera and let them get used to seeing me from behind the lens.
I LOVE shooting outdoors but it does mean we are often at the mercy of the weather. Sarah and I had a few little texts back and forth the day before as the rain pelted down and the clouds stubbornly blotted out the summer sky! However, we had nothing to fear! The light was incredible and I’m getting all giddy just thinking about it now. 🙂
I started by reassuring them that it takes about 15 minutes for people to feel relaxed in front of the camera. And they promptly decided to prove me wrong! These two were able to be themselves right from the start and even if you don’t know them, you’ll be able to see what fun they are and how much they love each other. I can’t wait for their wedding! <3
