The alarm went off at 5:15am. I tried to open my eyes and my overwhelming desire was to go back to sleep. But I dragged myself out of bed, got dressed and headed out the door. It was the morning before Peter and Elizabeth’s (aka Liz) wedding and I was off to meet the bride and her sister-in-law at the flower market.
It was well worth the effort of course! Liz is one of those really amazing, creative people. She loves gardening and flowers so it was logical for her to do her own flowers for the wedding. I have to say, I was in awe! I watched as she cast a careful eye over the plethora of flowers on display. She absentmindedly whispers the names of the flowers as she peruses them and I realise just how knowledgeable she is.
I looked at the final selection of flowers and couldn’t wait to see how it would all come together…
Peter and Liz, they are so well suited to each other. I’ve known Peter a few years now but I only got the joy of meeting Liz in April this year. I’ve loved getting to know the two of them these past 2 months as they planned their wedding. They are such a kind, thoughtful and caring couple. Their main thoughts were for their guests and making sure they could share their joy and happiness with the ones closest to them. The way they looked after me on the day and leading up to it was marvelous and I’m pleased to say that I’ve gained a couple of wonderful friends! I felt so privileged to be part of their special day and I hope you enjoy the selection of photos taken at the gorgeous Wortley Hall.
I’d also like to thank my super amazing second shooter, Molly, who threw herself into the day with enthusiasm and made sure groom prep was covered and got amazing photos of the guests.
