Spring is in the air and wedding season is peeking it’s budded head up from the ground! And oh my goodness I’m so excited! It is such a joy and privilege to photograph couples as they promise life-long commitment to each other in front of their friends and family. That sounds a little twee doesn’t it? But it really is how I feel. 🙂
With Tim and Sophie’s wedding I also got to see a little more of the behind the scenes planning that went on as, for over a year before they tied the knot, Sophie and I were housemates. Can you imagine my excitement when they asked if I’d be their photographer! A thousand times yes and more…
Sophie is amazingly gifted and creative. She has an eye for creating something beautiful out of stuff I’d not look twice at. When I saw the black bag full of plastic flowers in our dining room I have to say I was skeptical (I haven’t actually admitted this to Soph…). Yet, the next thing I knew she had whipped up not only the most lovely little vases out of old glass jars and the flowers but also done a gorgeous table seating plan.
All the decorations and details throughout the whole wedding were handmade with amazing thought, detail and care. Photographs played a big part in the decoration and it showed just how important friends and family are to this couple.
The thought that stuck with me about Tim and Sophie when I first started to get to know them was just how perfect they are for each other. They complement each other so well and when you see how they look at each other you just see the love! And what’s great is that when I visited their flat they have a massive wall filled with prints from their wedding. Warm fuzzy feelings for me, that I could give them the gift of memories from this most special of days.
But now, please enjoy a small selection of photos from their wedding.
