On Yorkshire Day this year Laura and Matt were married! It was a wonderfully fun day filled with so many personal touches and lots of friends and family. The sun shone for us and it wasn’t too hot or too cold.
Laura and Matt are two of the most thoughtful, laid back and kind people and it showed in how they planned their wedding. It was the most chilled out bridal preparation I’d ever been part of (including my own!) and there was a buzz of eager anticipation as guests arrived at The Sitwell Arms in the sunshine.
It’s the same venue where Laura’s parents were married so it had an extra level of importance to the couple. And though we did get a little bit of rain, it didn’t put a dampener on our time outside.
The wedding breakfast was the epitome of Yorkshire Fayre: pie, mash and peas. And there was, of course, Henderson’s Relish on hand. Dessert was a selection of scrumptious cakes and scones served with tea and coffee. Perfect for the weather and for contributing to the relaxed feel of the wedding.
But the day was more about spending time with loved ones and celebrating this very special couple. So there was plenty of laughter and merriment the whole day and way into the evening.
We had glorious light in the evening as the smell of the hog roast gently weaved it’s way around and guests sipped their cocktails. Laura and Matt looked amazing as they took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife and I left them and their guests filling up the dance floor and having a fantastic time!
It was a very special day and I loved every moment of it! I don’t think there will be another Yorkshire Day quite like this one!
